Highlights of 2017

As 2017 draws to an end I find myself reflecting on the past year and planning for the future. I particularly enjoy looking back briefly just to see how I’ve come and the progress I have made. I can’t say I have faced many challenges this year, the ones I have faced I’ve definitely learnt from. Equally, I’ve been blessed with a fair few positives. Here’s just a few:

My boyfriend and I got our own place

I got a new job (and offered another one)

I stayed healthy

A few blessings in disguise have come my way too. I’ve lost some valued friendships, but these taught me to focus on myself and those that matter. I’ve also made friendships which I will always treasure. I am a strong believer in everything happens for a reason which is why I call them blessings in disguise.

A cliché saying to welcome the new year is ‘new year new me’ and everyone has New Year goals to achieve. I don’t often set goals for myself but given everything I’ve been through the past couple of years I feel like this is a good time to set some. So I’ve been thinking realistically and have managed to come up with a list of short-term and long-term goals. I feel like it’s good to have both, by achieving short-term goals, you’re staying consistent and motivated for the achievement of the long-term goals.

My short term goals are:

Pass my theory and driving tests

Blog consistently (this can progress to a long-term goal)

Read more (I’m going to aim for 2 books a month)

My long terms goals are:

Keep healthy, eat healthier and become committed to working out

Put myself first

Save more money

Work with a charity

Become a morning person

It’s important not to over-do it and set realistic goals that you are capable of achieving. However, don’t be afraid to push yourself.  I hope you all have a lovely New Year and enjoy seeing 2018 in.

Love and light,
Guts, Giggles & More x

  1. I’m totally with you on small, more realistic and manageable goals. I think there’s way too much pressure over the new year malarky, especially when it comes to changes and reinventing your life. I wish you all the very best for a healthier, happier New Year lovely! 🙂
